Our Story

Trent and I have a story that is full of so much history that I don't really know where to begin... the VERY beginning I guess?

Trent's family moved into my parents ward the year I was born. Trent had just turned 4. Throughout the years our parents became good friends and I would see Trent at family-friend dinners, Cottonwood Mall outings, TGI Fridays for Halloween lunches and primary. When Trent was a senior in high school, he was Joseph in Joseph...Technicolor Dreamcoat and I developed this heartbreaking crush on him. I call it heartbreaking because I was only in 8th grade and when I told my best friend that I was going to marry Trent English, I knew that was a FAT CHANCE.

Well fast forward to my Junior year of high school. I was running for SBO and my mom suggested that Trent edit my skit video. I remember sitting at his kitchen counter with him, feeling like a complete moron as he edited this video. I made myself look like an idiot in the video and I was reminded just how big my crush on him was back in 8th grade. Butterflies....no... DINOSAURS in my stomach as we sat in silence while he edited my video.

Fast forward AGAIN to my senior year of high school. I locked my keys in my car and frantically called my mom. 5 minutes later she pulled into the parking lot only to tell me that Trent and Justin (his brother) English were coming to help me. Oh great... now I REALLY look like an idiot having locked my keys in my car and this guy I've been crushing on since 8th grade is here to see it.

One more fast forward to my freshman year at the U of U. I ran into Susan DeMill at a wedding shower and she asked me to be a dancer in Joseph... Dreamcoat for her that coming summer up at Draper. I said no and explained to her that I was WAY too busy. She began telling me who was going to be in the show....Brooke Bagley as the narrator, her daughter as a dancer and Trent English as the Joseph. "Say no more" I said..."when are auditions?"

Through rehearsals and performances, Trent and I flirted non-stop and became very good friends. On June 20, 2011, Trent took me out on our first day and the rest is history.

We dated on and off for 3 years, got engaged on July 14, 2014 and were married in the Salt Lake Temple on January 3, 2015.

I love our story. It came with a lot of trials but if I had to go through all of that again to be where I am today, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I love being Mrs. English and I love being married to my very best friend. I love that we shared a childhood together and that we now get to grow old together! <3
